Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), the second largest car maker and largest car exporter in the Indian auto market, is all set to launch its most awaited small car – Hyundai Eon – next month. The all new Hyundai Eon is considered to be the biggest rival of India’s best selling Maruti Alto, and will be driving a considerably high sales number for the company.

Powered by an 800 CC engine, the all new Hyundai Eon will be shelved in the price segment of Rs 2.5 to 3.5 lakhs, where it will be rivaling with the likes of Tata Nano, Maruti Alto and Chevrolet Spark. The car will be positioned below the small car Santro Xing. Designed with the new Fluidic design language of Hyundai, the same that is used in the new Verna Fluidic, the new Hyundai Eon will be blessed with the fascinating exterior and new features.

Speaking to the reporters in the National Capital, Hyundai Director (Marketing & Sales) Arvind Saxena said, "New car launches are determined on the basis of the long-term outlook on a market. Our outlook on the Indian market in the medium and long-term is very positive. We want to address the Indian customer with regular product launches."

The Eon’s biggest rival Maruti Alto currently accounts for the sales of over 30,000 units a month, and the new Hyundai small car is expected to grab a significant chunk of the Alto sales in the country.
