The tussle between the two brands exists at every level and each has one model in competition with the other’s respective version. Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon 1.0 are examples of such models in competition. Though as a moniker, the “Alto” is far ahead of Eon, the sales of the latter cannot be undermined. A mere look at the Hyundai Eon 1.0 automatically depicts that style is one of its USPs. The futuristic headlamps, integrated spoilers, stylish tail lamps, body coloured door handles and mirrors along with the chrome grille make this compact sedan look really attractive. Given its price and segment, the Hyundai Eon 1.0 is certainly as good looking a car as it gets. The interiors of this model have a lot of comfort and convenience features, such as ergonomically designed seats, floor console storage, dashboard storage, map pocket with bottle holder, three-spoke steering wheel and climate control system give this compact hatchback a certain edge over rivals.
Like the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Hyundai Eon 1.0 is fitted with an engine that displaces 998 cc. Hyundai Eon 1.0 is capable of producing an output of up to 68 BHP, which is almost as much as its Maruti Suzuki rival. The mileage of this car is claimed to be around 21 kmpl, which, again, is quite impressive.
Looking from an objective point of view, the Hyundai Eon 1.0 stands in good stead against Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, be it any aspect. However, the brand value of Maruti Suzuki and popularity of Alto series gives K10 an edge. There is not much to choose between the two cars as they are at par in several aspects. While Alto K10 might be ahead in mileage, the Eon 1.0 certainly trumps it when features are compared.
