Hyundai India launched the new generation Elite i20 in August, 2014. It has received an overwhelming response from car buyers, and the company has registered over 40,000 bookings for the hatchback in less than 3 months. Moreover, the manufacturer has already cleared over 55 per cent of the bookings, which is pretty impressive.
The attractive design, new and comfortable interiors, excellent features and good pricing is the major reasons behind the great initial success of the new Elite i20. In the first month, August, Hyundai delivered 6,627 units of i20 to customers while the September month sales stand at 8,903 units. Adding to it, 9,000 units of the Elite i20 have been sold in October, which is the proof of growing popularity of this hatchback.
Hyundai Elite i20 competes directly against the likes of Maruti Swift, Fiat Punto Evo and Volkswagen Polo. Surprisingly, the sales of i20 have increased from 3k to 10k; on the other hand, there is no decline in sales of Swift hatchback. Hyundai India is aiming to launch a series of new products in the Indian car market including Verna facelift, i20 Cross and ix25 compact SUV in 2015. The company is gearing up to register the record growth in the country. The ix25 compact SUV will go on sale in the mid-2015, and will rival against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Mahindra Scorpio.
