      Hyundai Elite i20 Crossover spotted undergoing road tests in India

      Hyundai shook the ground in the hatchback segment with the recent launch of Elite i20 in the domestic market. For a while now news has been doing rounds that the Korean carmaker Hyundai has also been planning on launching a crossover version of its i20 hatchback. The anticipated crossover version is likely to be a strong competitor against the likes of Volkswagen's Cross Polo and Toyota's Etios Cross. Recently, sources from Bangalore have managed to capture spy shots of the vehicle undergoing road tests, thereby hinting on a possible launch sometime soon. If reports are to be believed the Hyundai Elite i20 Crossover may be launched sometime by mid or early next year.

      Hyundai India has not revealed any details on the techical specification or pricing aspect for now, but it is believed that the company may launch the new crossover in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol version is likely to be powered by 1.2 Liter engine that is capable of delivering 83 PS along with 117 Nm of peak torque output. The diesel trim is likely to be powered by 1.4litre, CRDi engine that is capable of delivering power output of about 90 PS with 224 Nm of maximum torque.

      The designing aspect of the vehicle is unknown for now, based on what was seen by spyshots, the vehicle is likely to feature aluminum roof rails and side body claddings. The smartly designed alloy wheels complement the good amount of ground clearance for the vehicle. The pricing aspect of the vehicle is unknown for now, but it is likely to be positioned between Rs. 7 – Rs. 10 Lakhs segment to make it a strong contender in its segment.
