The hatchback is being produced at the company’s Chennai manufacturing unit that has an annual manufacturing capacity of 6.4 lakh units, which can further be increased to 6.8 lakh units by making change in shifts. However, if demand for Elite i20 soars further the company might have to enhance the production capacity for timely delivery. Festive season is on brink of commencing and sale of vehicles usually rises during that time, also last few months have been good for the automotive industry in terms of sales hence the need to raise Elite i20 production may arise.
