      Hyundai Creta waiting period comes down

      Hyundai India that increased the Creta’s production from 5,000 units per month to 7,000 units in October, has finally succeeded to reduce its waiting period to three months. The Hyundai Creta received over 54,000 bookings within two month of its launch that increased the vehicle’s waiting period up to 10 months in certain cities. The waiting period of diesel automatic variant has been reduced up to three months, which was nine months earlier. While the petrol variants are being promised to deliver a little earlier. The company will further increase the production of the compact SUV up to 9,000 – 10,000 units per month from December, 2015.

      Hyundai Creta

      With stunning design, feature-rich cabin and commanding road presence, the Hyundai Creta became India’s best-selling SUV in August and September. Launched within the price range of Rs. 8.59 lakh – Rs. 13.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Creta takes on the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. The compact SUV comes with three engine options – a 1.6-litre dual VTVT petrol, a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel.

      The 1.6-litre petrol engine delivers a maximum power of 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel units offer 89bhp with 220Nm and 126bhp with 259Nm respectively. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard, while a six-speed automatic is available only on the 1.6-litre diesel models. The Creta petrol is claimed to return a mileage of 15.29km/l. Whereas, the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel mills offer 21.38km/l, and 19.67km/l (MT) and 17.01km/l (AT) respectively.
