The Creta’s popularity can be gauged from the fact that Hyundai has accumulated over one lakh bookings in just about eight months. In the compact SUV segment Creta accounts for about 50 per cent of total sales. Hyundai attributes the Creta’s success to impressive styling and features like projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, adjustable seats, smart infotainment system, a premium-looking cabin, six-airbags and hill-start assist controlsamong others.

Under the hood, the Hyundai Creta is offered in three engine options - 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel and 1.4-diesel engines. The petrol unit generates about 128bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic option. The smaller diesel engine generates 89bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the bigger diesel engine generates about 121bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic option.
