How 2012 Skoda Superb Ambition fares in the Indian auto market

Skoda Auto has offered a new base variant of Superb, Ambition in the Indian auto market on 18th April 2012. With the launch of this premium car, the company has reduced the price of base variant of Superb by Rs. 1.65 lacs. We are also included in the magnitude of providential audience that were present at the launch ceremony of this premium sedan in Mumbai on 18th April 2012. Skoda has offered two types of engine options with its Ambition, namely petrol as well as diesel. In the current scenario, the petrol variant of Ambition cost around Rs. 18 lacs, whereas the diesel version is provided for Rs. 22.5 lacs.

Our experts have speculated that Skoda has specially launched this car to counter the success of newly launched Hyundai 2012 Sonata. Along with Sonata, the car will also deliver a stiff competition to Honda Accord, which is also a well-established car in premium segment.

Along with a powerful engine, all these cars are also incorporated with advanced safety features that ensure safety of its passengers. Accord is assimilated with features like intelligent six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Break-force Distribution (EBD) and active headrest. In addition to these, the car is also assimilated with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) technology that stops individual wheel and reduces the power delivered by the engine in over steering conditions.

The safety features packed within Hyundai Sonata includes dual front airbags with passenger detection system, rear parking assist system, impact sensing door unlock, height adjustable front seat belts and engine immobiliser. On the other hand, the world class features packed within Superb Ambition includes rear park distance controller, hill hold control, adaptive front light system and anti-theft alarm system with interior monitor and tilt senor system.
