Honda’s Fit based crossover will be christened HR-V in the US market as per recent reports. Honda HR-V is a compact crossover which the company is mulling to launch in US by the end of 2014. The compact crossover will be produced alongside Fit hatchback at the company’sCelayaunit located in Mexico.Speculations suggest that the company also showed vehicle to dealers in North America and has also filed an application for “HR-V” moniker at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Honda unveiled the SUV last year at the Detroit Motor Show where the concept form of the vehicle was shown. At the 2014 Tokyo Motor Show, Honda revealed the Japanese-Spec, production version of the vehicle. This production version showcased at 2014 Tokyo Motor Show was calledVezel.
Honda could also introduce the vehicle in European markets after the launching in U.S; however launch in Europe could happen in 2015.JDMboundVezelhas been available for sale since November 2013. In U.S the vehicle will be placed below its popular SUV, CR-V.
A vehicle with the similar name was offered by Honda in 1999, but the production was barred in a short span of time by 2006. The older HR-V model, (Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle) was proffered in three and five door body styles. Powering the vehicle was the 1.6 litre petrol engine belting out varied power outputs of 105Psand 125Psin theVTECversion.
