The Japan-based automobile maker, Honda, has finally revealed its 2012 Honda CR-V crossover at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The highly-anticipated Honda CR-V 2012 is expected to be seen in India next, possibly at the high profile 2012 Delhi Auto Expo.

The luxury sports utility vehicle was launched in India back in 2007 and received an overwhelming response from buyers across the nation, owing to its performance, style and luxury. However, the premium SUV has been losing on its popularity in India due to tough competition. But the new version is expected to regain lost grounds with its launch during mid-2012.

The revamped premium SUV is garnering all the attention, it can, at the Los Auto International Auto Show. Honda has completely revised the exterior looks and styling of the new Honda CR-V. Moreover, the designers have managed to retain the distinct element and added a hint of boldness to the 2012 CR-V.

Car enthusiasts, present at the event, were impressed by the new interior features of 2012 Honda CR-V crossover. The cabin has abundant space to accommodate five passengers along with sufficient cargo space. The back seats have features like a 60/40 folding function that can increase the overall cargo space further.

The highly-advanced i-MID system or the intelligent Multi-Information Display system that has a Pandora internet radio with SMS text reading function deserves a special mention. Furthermore, features like air-con, Bluetooth Hands Free Link, cruise control, remote entry, 4-speaker audio system and Motion-Adaptive Electric Power Steering (EPS) are available even in the base LX variant of the new crossover.

The 2012 Honda CR-V is powered by a 2.4-litre, i-VTEC engine that has maximum power churning capacity of 184 bhp and torque of 163 Nm. Along with the impressive engine, the wheels are powered by a 5-speed automatic gear box.

Honda has once again proven to be the leader by developing a high performance, advanced luxury crossover. Thus, the Japan-based car brand is expected to regain its popularity in the premium sports utility vehicle segment world over.
