Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese multinational car maker Honda Motor Co., is all set to lure domestic audience with the launch of its 2013 CR-V model in the domestic passenger car market on February 12, 2013. The CR-V is premium Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and will be pitched in the sub-Rs. 25 lakhs price bracket. A sneak preview of the upcoming SUV is uploaded on the Honda's official website and the 2013 CR-V does look ultra modish, futuristic and stunning. The plus points of the upcoming premium SUV will be its cutting-edge features, head turning visual appeal and aesthetically pleasing interior setting.
The new Honda CR-V will flaunt leather upholstery, all-round airbags, an AVN (Audio, Visual, Navigation) infotainment system with 6.1-inch screen, keyless entry, sunroof, one touch folding rear seats and Automatic Cruise Control (ACC). Sources suggest that the company has lined up two petrol models of its 2013 CR-V premium SUV, one with a 2 litre motor and 2-Wheel Drive (2WD), along with a 2.4 litre engine powering its top end model with an All Wheel Drive (AWD) system. The engines are anticipated to come mated with 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmission gearboxes.
The 2013 Honda CR-V premium SUV will be pitched in a direct face off against the likes of Mahindra SsangYong Rexton, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander and Pajero Sport, Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan X-Trail and Chevrolet Captiva in India. The Japanese auto major is anticipated to launch its new CR-V model with an introductory price tag over Rs. 20 lakhs, but less than Rs. 25 lakhs.
