On the back of continual strong sales of new Honda City sedan and Honda Amaze compact sedan, Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) posted growth in domestic sales by 18 per cent in the month of May 2014. Honda India sold 13,362 units last month as compared to 11,342 units sold in the same month last year. Collective sales of HCIL stood at 24,402 units in the time period of April-May as against 19,830 units sold in the same time last year registering a growth of 23 per cent. Honda India also exported 518 units of India made cars to overseas markets.
Model wise break up for Honda cars is as follows-Driving highest sales for HCIL, City accounted for 7,218 units in May 2014, after City Amaze was the second highest contributor in May sales at 4,752 units followed by Brio at 1,333 units and CR-V at 59 units only.
