Honda Cars Ltd (HCIL), on Saturday, December 1, 2012, reported that its total sales for the month of November have increased by 87.24 per cent to 3,711 units. The company in a statement said that it had sold 1,982 units of vehicles in the same month last year.

The company achieved this surge in its sales with a total sale of 1,218 units of its flagship sedan City and 2,199 numbers of its small car Brio, while the rest of its sales came from other cars. The company also sold 186 units of the premium hatchback jazz and 72 units of sedan Civic. HCIL also managed to sell 36 units of the premium Accord in the month of November this year.

The sales figure of HCIL has tremendously increased in the month of November 2012, which can mostly be accounted to the festival of Diwali falling in this month, on which a large number of Indians take home a new vehicle.

While the company has decided to discontinue its sedan Civic in India, whose production has already been stopped, the first diesel car, Amaze, from the stables of the Japanese car maker is all set to hit roads in 2013. As the hike in fuel prices, have largely increased the demands of Diesel powered cars in the country, the much awaited Amaze is likely to lure a good number of buyers. Thus, the current huge increase in the sales of Honda cars is likely to continue in the future as well.
