The Japanese carmaker, Honda has announced a voluntary recall of 41,580 vehicles in India. The recall for the replacement of Takata airbags has affected vehicles manufactured in 2012 and includes Jazz, City, Civic and Accord.
The City sedan is the highest affected vehicle with a total of 32,456units. The number of Jazz includes 7,265 units, Civic is 1,200 units and the Accord accounts for 659 units. The replacement will be carried out free of cost to the customer at Honda’s dealerships across India. The company will communicate with the customers directly as the replacement of the airbag inflators would commence with immediate effect.
The customers, on the other hand, can check whether their vehicle is covered under the recall by visiting the company’s official website and entering the 17 alpha-numeric characters of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite.
It is the second time Honda has recalled the cars for the airbags issue after recalling 1.9lakh cars in July last year to replace front airbags.
