Honda has a joint venture in China with Chinese company Guangqi and sells several premium models in the Chinese market. It has recently recalled 32,000 units in China citing power steering problems in the Odyssey models manufactured between June 22 2009 and May 19 2010. An official statement from the company stated that the power steering might need tightening as it may pose a safety threat to the driver. The oil may leak from a loosely installed fuel pipe, the company said in a statement. It didn't say whether the problem has led to any injuries.

The official website of Guangqi Honda Automobile Co. has officialy posted a statement to recall all models manufactured between stipulated period. The model was launched officially in the Chinese market last year in April. The company has also reported the recall to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The joint venture company is planning to raise its annual capacity in China by 33 percent. The new installed manufacturing unit will lift Honda’s capacity to manufacture 830,000 units by second half of 2012.
