      Honda Plans to Launch Its Super Bikes in India

      After Yamaha, Ducati and Suzuki, Honda now plans to unleash its superbikes in the Indian auto market. New models like CBR 1000RR are expected to hit the showrooms at least in metros soon.

      "We will launch two models in super bike category with 800-1000 cc engines in this fiscal. Apart from this, we will also bring a new model in the mass market category before March next year,” says NK Rattan, General Manager (Marketing), Honda. The company also plans to launch exclusive showrooms in metros for the sales of its superbikes. “To start with, we will establish our showrooms in the metros. Later on we will expand taking into account serviceability and other issues,” said NK Rattan.

      All the bikes will be launched before March 2009 and will also augment its mass market bikes with the launch of new 125cc+ bike soon. Honda plans to capture the slump-defying superbike segment in India. The cost of these bikes will be Rs. 10 lakh and above.

      Suzuki has recently launched its superbike models, Hayabusa and Intruder M1800, in India.
