Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), the two-wheeler division of Honda India, recently concluded a ride around the nation’s capital promoting safety while driving. This event was organized in close collaboration with the superbikers in the city of the renowned Black Piston Super Bikers Club. The team that took part in the event comprised 25 members, all on their magnificent superbikes. This event recently concluded on August 17.

Safety has been the growing concern for people who drive automobiles in India. With the number of automobiles and two-wheelers ever increasing, there have been more cases of accidents and mishaps on the road. Most of these are caused due to negligence in driving. Drunken driving, over-speeding and carelessness are some of the major reasons that led to fatal accidents on the road all over the country, more so in the metropolitan cities.

Present at the event was Y.S. Guleria, who is the Vice President of the Sales and Marketing of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. He said in a statement, “As a responsible corporate, Honda has always emphasized on road safety. Such endeavours are amongst the many that Honda undertakes to promote fun riding in a safe way without losing the thrill.”

The journey started from the company’s showroom at Naraina and was completed at Manesar, some 45 km away from the starting point. All the participants were presented with a multi-purpose first aid kit by Honda. Honda also conducted a medical session from experts with the riders regarding how to deal with fatal situations while riding. Some of the most common scenarios like a small fracture, emergency tips and other small and big situations were discussed during the event.

The founder of the Group of Delhi Superbikers (GODS), Dr. Arun Theraja was also present at the occasion and he commented, “The group today learnt tips and techniques that will not only be handy, but also be useful in the long run. These recreational activities not only promote safe riding but also educate riders to be wary of extreme situations.”

Certainly such activities will promote the importance of safe riding on the road and make sure that drivers make a responsible impact when it comes to road safety.
