As the launch date for the much awaited Mobilio MPV from Honda nears, another Mobilio variant known as 'RS' is expected to be launched simultaneously. Recently, the RS trim was launched in Indonesia last month and fresh reports indicate the RS variant shall also be launch soon in India.
Honda Mobilio MPV shall be available in Petrol as well as Diesel variants. The petrol version shall be powered by 1.5 Liter petrol engine, whereas the diesel variant may be powered by a 1.5 Liter turbo diesel engine. Both the engines have been mated to 5 Speed manual gearbox. Based on unofficial reports, the Mobilio MUV is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of about 25.8 kmpl.
The RS variant is likely to be positioned above the top end Mobilio variant and shall be powered by a similar 1.5 Liter engine. The anticipated change would be cosmetic in nature and the vehicle is likely to carry headlamps with LED DRL's and bi-focal projectors. The front grill may sport two slats that shall be complimented with a bigger front bumper. An extra dose of chrome can be expected at the front and back. As for the interiors, the RS is likely to be loaded with high end infotainment system, wood garnish and leather upholstery. The pricing is likely to be on a higher side and detailed report may be received at the time of its launch.
