Honda Cars India Ltd. will launch its first ever MPV in domestic market tomorrow at a grand event organized in the capital of India, New Delhi. HCIL of late updated its website with information on Mobilio hinting at the launch to happen soon. Customers can also witness the launch of MPV live on Honda’s official website that starts tomorrow at 11:00 am.

With Mobilio, Honda will also make its foray in MPV segment and hence this makes tomorrow’s launch critical for Honda. The seven seater MPV will be offered in three row layout and is expected to have a roomier third row. Maruti’s Ertiga is being seen as the toughest competitor of Mobilio in term of space and pricing. Pre-bookings for the vehicle started few days back at authorized Honda dealerships for a token amount of Rs 50,000. As far pricing of Mobilio is concerned, it is being expected that the MPV could be tagged between Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 8.50 lakh.

Conceived on the Brio platform, Mobilio has been endowed with robust and aggressive looks rendering it a vigorous stance. In India, the MPV will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise.

The frugal engines are claimed to deliver segment best fuel economy-powering the petrol variants, 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine is vouched to return 18.2 kmpl. Diesel range of Mobilio will come loaded with a 1.5 litre i-DTEC powertrain that is claimed to run up to 24.2 kmpl.

Following launch of standard variant of Mobilio, Honda is also expected to roll out Mobilio RS variant in India. Speculations are rife that HCIL could bring Mobilio RS in domestic market in the month of September. This variant was recently launched in Indonesian market. Mobilio RS is nothing but a sportier version of the MPV sporting some additional equipments and priced a tad higher than the regular variant of Mobilio.
