Honda has introduced the 2017 City at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) with some exterior changes, and a revamped list of features. A new top-of-the-line variant called the ZX finds its way to the line-up and the earlier E and VX (O) variants have been discontinued. While the updated variants are now called S, SV, V, VX and ZX, the S variant will be the new base model and will only be offered with a petrol engine.
All other variants will be available with the petrol or diesel motor with the option of the petrol CVT on the V, VX and the ZX variants. Some of updated features include new alloys, auto LED headlamps and DRLs, LED tail lamps, and a boot spoiler with LED brake lamps. There’s also a new seven-inch infotainment system with reverse camera, driver and passenger airbags with optional side and curtain airbags, and auto wipers.
Under the hood of the 2017 Honda City will be the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which produces 119bhp and will use a five-speed manual or a CVT. On the other hand, the 100bhp i-DTEC diesel engine will continue to use the six-speed manual gearbox.
