      2017 Honda CBR650F

Honda has launched the updated version of the CBR650F, starting at Rs 7.3 lakhs, ex-showroom. The CBR650F is the entry-level import motorcycle for Honda in the Indian market.

The new CBR650F gets mechanical and cosmetic updates as well – there are two new colours to choose from, a matte red and a matte black. The 649cc engine has also been revised to meet BSlV emission norms. In the process Honda has bumped up peak power by 4bhp to 90bhp. The peak torque figure hasn’t changed, it remains 64Nm. Other revisions include shorter intake funnels and a revised internal structure in the muffler that improve airflow. The gear ratios are new as well, and offer better acceleration. The forks at the front are new, and the brake callipers are of a better design than before.

The CBR650F is a fully faired, four cylinder motorcycle that Honda is pitching as a sport tourer. It will compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Z900 and Benelli TNT 600GT. Price-wise, the Ducati Scrambler Icon and the Triumph Street Twin are also options to the CBR650F.
