The launch of Honda Jazz in the Indian car market was scheduled in March. However, to the disappointment of many, the launch of this model is delayed until 2015 June. The production constraints are to be blamed for the delay in launch of new generation Honda Jazz.
Currently, the waiting period of Honda City is around 2 to 4 months, while Amaze has a waiting period of 2 to 5 months. Honda is expected to do some research work, which is the cause for this delay. Honda India had, however, started the production of Jazz for the purpose of South African export purposes, earlier in 2015.
The Japanese car manufacturer looks forward to match the demands of the Indian market for Jazz, because the waiting aspects reduce the prospective customers. The new Jazz is expected to have a better market than its predecessor, which not only had a high price but also was missing a diesel engine option. The new model will be based on the City platform and will be available with a 1.5 litre diesel engine and another 1.2 litre petrol mill. The localization level of the new cars like Amaze, Mobilio, Amaze and Jazz has been increased to 90 per cent.
Honda is expected to launch new Accord after the launch of new Jazz. This event will be taking place at the 2016 Auto Expo. Honda India is supposed to bolster its product line-up with the launch of Jazz and the new Accord. The new Jazz is expected to have a price tag of Rs 5 to 7 lakhs INR. It will compete against the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
