Launched in July 2015 in India, the Honda Jazz became the segment’s second best-selling car with a monthly average of 4,500 - 5,000 units. Prices for the Jazz start from Rs. 5.30 lakh for base variant, and go up to Rs. 8.59 lakh for top-end variant. At this price, the hatchback competes against the Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and the recently-launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Powering the vehicle is a 1.2-litre iVTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre iDTEC diesel engine that deliver a maximum power of 89bhp with 110Nm of torque, and 99bhp with 200Nm respectively. Transmission options on offer are a five-speed manual and CVT.

Both the engines used by the Jazz are the same that do duty to the Amaze compact sedan. The Jazz diesel is claimed to deliver the class-leading fuel-efficiency of 27.3km/l (ARAI-rated figure). The petrol mill with 8 per cent taller gear ratios returns an impressive mileage of 19km/l (CVT) and 18.7km/l (MT). The new Honda Jazz is offered a choice of seven colours - Sunset Orange, Urban Titanium Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Tafetta White and White Orchid Pearl.
