A Honda Jazz-based crossover is believed to be in the works. This vehicle will slot in below the HR-V in the big ‘H’ global lineup and is likely to be called the WR-V. It will be Honda’s entry into a highly competitive global segment which has players like the VW Cross Polo and Hyundai i20 Active.

This new car, the WR-V, will replace the Fit Twist and should ideally follow the standard formula of higher ground clearance and body cladding. A few of the renderings of this vehicle also suggest a different boot lid and design for the tail lamps.

The cabin will be the same as the current Jazz with little or no changes to the feature list, layout or design. Engines are unlikely to change and we can expect the 1.2-litre, 1.5-litre and 1.5-litre diesel. The former two can be had with a five-speed manual or CVT while the latter is only offered with a six-speed manual.

This car is expected to make its debut at the end of the year, most likely at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show. It will then arrive in India a few months later and may possibly have its global launch here.
