      Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt - Much awaited hatchback debutants in 2015

      The hatchback segment is one of the most popular categories in the Indian automobile sector. Incidentally, every third car, which is sold in the country, is a hatchback. This has prompted most manufacturers to launch hatches in India. The year 2014 saw the launching of several such models and it is expected that 2015 shall be no different. The automobile industry is expected to witness the launch of a number of hatch varieties. Among these cars, two models, which have been able to inspire the imagination of most, are Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt.

      Bookings for the Tata Bolt have already begun. The booking rate of the Bolt hatch has been fixed at 11000 INR. The car will debut in the Indian automobile market during the first half of the year. Competition among the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20 and i10 was already quite stiff and it is expected to increase several manifolds with the entry of Bolt. The car is expected to generate a power of 84 bhp at the rate of 5000 rpm from the 1.2-litre Revotron turbo charged mill. With a twisting force of 140 Nm at 1750 to 3000 rpm, the Bolt will definitely surprise the enthusiasts with its power.

      On the flip side, the new generation Honda Jazz will be powered by the same engine, which is present in Amaze. The petrol model is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine and the diesel model is powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill. There are chances that the company might also launch a more powerful hatchback at a later stage. The expected price range of the car is 4.5 lakhs INR to 8 lakhs INR.
