Honda has launched the all-new Acura NSX for the Japanese market. The hybrid model can be ordered for 23,700,000 Japanese Yen (Rs 1.55 crore), and deliveries are slated to begin from February, 2017.

Honda Japan now accepts orders for the all-new Acura NSX

Honda’s NSX first hit markets in the 1990s, and was a revelation back then thanks to their winning combination of sports car performance and everyday usability. True to their spirit, Honda hopes that the new NSX will help boost their image in the performance oriented segment.

The all-new Acura NSX has been co-developed by Honda’s engineers, both in the USA and in Japan. Their dedicated plant in Ohio, USA will make five of these cars in a day. Honda now incorporates a 581bhp mid-engine hybrid powertrain which uses three electric motors in tandem with a V6 twin-turbo petrol motor that’s connected to a nine-speed transmission. This motor spins out 659Nm of torque to all wheels of the NSX.

Honda president, Takahiro Hachigo, said, “Generating profit from the NSX may be a struggle, but by focussing on both functional cars and advanced performance, we will raise the Honda brand.” Honda optimistically claims to sell 800 cars for the American market and 100 cars for Japan in the first year of production.
