Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) has posted astounding growth of 208 per cent in March 2012 on Year over Year (YoY) basis. The Indian arm of Japanese car maker Honda Motor Company (HMC) sold a total of 11,016 units during the third month of this year against the 3,576 vehicles it sold during the same period in 2011. Individually, the company rolled out 6355 units of Brio entry level hatchback, 535 of Jazz premium hatchback, 3920 of City sedan, 104 of Civic mid-sized sedan, 101 of Accord premium sedan and 1 of CR-V crossover vehicle in the country.

Talking about its resounding success in the domestic market in March 2012, Jnaneshwar Sen, VP, Marketing & Sales, Honda India, commented, "Our sales performance in the month of March has been very impressive and is a testimony to our customer's trust and confidence in our product and services. Brio has emerged as an exemplary performer and this steady increase in the sales signifies the success of our models launched recently. This month, our focus was on production of Brio so as to maximize delivery of Brio to all our waiting customers. We are confident that we would continue this performance in the new financial year and Brio and new City will propel growth for Honda in the near future."

The consolidated sales of HSCI during FY 2011-12 stood at 54,427 vehicles, as compared to 59,463 units during FY 2010-11. Due to natural calamities like a tsunami and earthquakes in Japan and floods in Thailand, the manufacturer was suffering production halts at its facility in Greater Noida in 2011. Between April 2011 and March 2012, the automotive giant has also bolstered its sales and distribution network in the local market to 135 outlets in 83 cities.
