Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, a company that has been going from strength to strength in the Indian two-wheeler market, is trying to become a customer favourite by taking CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives. Reports regarding its collaboration with various state authorities for spreading awareness about safety and road knowledge are well known via the concept of a Traffic Park. Now, the firm has gone ahead to inaugurate its first Traffic Park in the state of Maharashtra that will be located in Yeola, Nasik. In addition, the Traffic Park inaugurated by Honda has been established in cooperation with Yeola Industrial Co-Operative Estate Limited.
Spread over an area of 170000 square feet, this Traffic Park will have Honda road safety trainers take part in teaching the enrolled students on a daily basis about what are dangers in Indian conditions and how one should go ahead and work towards being safe. According to company claims, there is room for massive improvement in the way Indian people handle traffic conditions and a number of problems can be averted if the right approach is followed by people. Learning how to ride vehicles is not a difficult thing and Honda believes women, who are a little short of confidence when it comes to this particular skill, can also learn driving in just one day if they pay proper attention.
Yadvinder Guleria, who is the Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, spoke about how important an establishment this Traffic Park is and its repercussions on the future. “At Honda, we truly believe that as we grow, our social responsibility too gets bigger. The renovated Late Mohan Gunjal Traffic Park is our sixth traffic park in India and first in Maharashtra. It is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all 2Wheeler riders. As a good corporate citizen, Honda will continue to invest in educating the riders and inculcating safe riding habits across India,” he said.
Shreenath Kamlapurkar, Regional Manager for the firm in West India, added further and said ,"At the Late Mohan Gunjal Traffic Park, Honda will provide ‘Lifetime Safety Education’ for all age groups – starting from 5 year old school children to adults with a special focus on women wanting to have a freedom of independent mobility. Under Honda’s unique training program, women riders will now be empowered to realize their dream of becoming independent and learning how to correctly ride a two-wheeler – that too in a single day."
