      Honda grabs Pole Position in the list of Most Searched Brands in 2014

      There has been lot of Google searches about cars and automobile brands and according to Google Zeitgeist 2014 Honda is most searched brand, while Honda Mobilio has edged past the others as the most searched car for this calendar. This does not come as a surprise as the Japanese automobile manufacturer had a clinical year with two successful launches that are boosting its sales every month. The upgraded City was launched earlier during the month of January and Mobilio, the MPV was launched mid-year. Both the cars have been performing exceptionally well in the Indian automobile market.

      There was a surprise entry for the number two position in the list of most searched cars in the market as this place was taken by Chevrolet Spark. There is no clear explanation for this choice and obviously this result has been able to surprise everyone. Apart from this aspect, it is clear that the love for SUVs is growing by the day for Indian car lovers. This is evident from the fact that Mahindra Scorpio and Ford EcoSport have bagged the number three and four positions, respectively. Additionally, it has reflected that India is waking up to the luxury cars and their models big time as Huracan and Aventador were browsed for more than Hyundai Xcent or the Tata Zest, thus completing the top seven.

      When it came to the list of brands, Honda occupied the top spot, followed closely by Maruti. The third position was grabbed by Hyundai, showing the fact that online presence and size is quite an important aspect for huge brands. Chevrolet making an entry to grab a fourth position, ahead if Audi, Ford and Nissan is again a surprise just like what Spark did in the list of most searched cars.

      Google Zeitgeist is a great way to understand what the masses are searching for online. Not only it gives a clear view about the growing trend, but it also reflects how the love and passion for cars have been changing over the years. What is best about Zeitgeist is the fact that one can go right back to 2001 to the archives and search online trends, not only about automobiles, but also about completely different aspects.
