The Mobilio top-end V variant is out of stock with a majority of the Honda dealerships in the country. Only the E and S trim of the seven-seater MUV are available and are retailing for a huge discount of around Rs 50,000.
Honda will soon discontinue the seven-seater MUV from the India market and replace it with the new BR-V SUV, which was unveiled at the Auto Expop 2016. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga competitor didn’t do well here and the sales figures for the last few months have been dismal.
Honda stopped the production of the Mobilio in December 2015 and has been clearing the stocks ever since. The BR-V is based on the same platform as the Mobilio and is basically an aggressive looking version with better ground clearance and premium interior. It will have the same petrol and diesel engine options and is expected to cost around Rs 1 lakh more.
Few dealers might still have the top-end V variant of the Mobilio in stock, which can be bought for a hefty discount. For those looking to buy the MUV for a long term use, it still makes sense, since the spare parts won’t be a problem due to component sharing across the Honda range.
