Honda is soon to launch a more affordable, smaller engined version of the CR-V. Displacing 2.0 litres rather than 2.4 and 150 bhp instead of 161, this is probably the most popular engine option for the CR-V globally.
While the reduction in power and performance are only likely to be marginal, the fuel economy is reported to improve. The 2.0 litre engine is also likely to be sold only in manual form. It will also allow Honda to narrow the price gap between the CR-V and the Suzuki Vitara, increasing the success of what already is Indias most successful import car. Expect the car to be priced between Rs 17.5 19 lakh, depending on the specification.
