The Honda City facelift has been spied in its production-ready avatar. The completely undisguised model gives us a glimpse of the host of cosmetic updates that will soon make it to the Indian market.

Honda City facelift spied ahead of launch

In term of design updates, the City facelift takes inspiration from the all-new Civic unveiled recently. The headlights retain their sharp look, however, their detailing is different altogether. What’s also new is the Civic-like bumper design and the sportier looking chin. At the back, the taillights have been revised and the bumper is all-new with some black inserts to reduce visual bulk.

Updates inside the cabin will be highlighted by a new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The rest of the features will more or less be the same.

Honda will soldier on with the existing City’s engines, meaning buyers will get to choose between the 98bhp/200Nm, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit and the 119bhp/145Nm 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol. The diesel City will feature a 6-speed manual while the petrol-powered model will come with the option of a 5-speed manual and a CVT.

Honda India will launch the City facelift soon. The vehicle will compete with cars like the VW Vento, Hyundai Verna and the recently updated Skoda Rapid.
