Honda cars to cost more from this month

While most Indian automakers are mulling a price hike, ex-showroom prices of Honda cars in India have already shot up. This revision of prices range from Rs 6300 to Rs 14,250.

Starting with the the entry-level Brio, the car's prices have gone up from Rs 6,900 to Rs 7,600. Then for the Amaze compact sedan, petrol variants are now costlier by Rs 6,300-6,550, while the diesel trims cost Rs 6,500-6,700 more than the earlier prices. BR-V, the latest SUV from Honda's portfolio, is also expensive now with a price hike for the petrol versions varying from Rs 13,350-14,050. The oil-burner's ex-showroom prices also have climbed by Rs 9,900-14,250.

The Honda City's ex-showroom prices have also changed and the petrol variant costs Rs 11,000-11,750 more now. Prospective buyers of the diesel variant of this Honda's premium sedan will also have to shell out Rs 11,550-12,150 than the earlier prices. Even the Jazz's prices have undergone a change of Rs 9,300-9,950 and Rs 9,850-10,600 for the petrol and diesel trims respectively. The CR-V, Honda's petrol-only SUV known for its car-like driving dynamics, also costs Rs 14,100 more than its sticker price.

The upward trend in the prices of cars does not come as a surprise, as many Indian manufacturers have taken this decision recently. Many are blaming the increasing input costs, while some are also attributing the price hike to continued high exchange rate. All of these factors affect the overall cost of production and eventually the ex-showroom prices of vehicles.

Please note that all the above mentioned difference in prices is in reference to ex-showroom prices of cars in New Delhi. These are effective from September 15-17.
