Honda Cars India (HCIL) has registered monthly domestic sales of 10,010 units in October 2019 whereas the number of export units stood at 633 units in the same period. The company sold 14,187 units in the domestic market in October 2018.
Commenting on the sales, Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India, said, “The festive season was rewarding for the auto sector after a prolonged slowdown. The high discounts and other festive offers provided by automakers across the industry resulted in positive consumer sentiment. At Honda, we also saw an increased sales momentum as compared to last few months and are hopeful that this trend will continue in the following months.”
Honda Cars India is currently working on the fifth-generation City and test runs of the model have already commenced. The company is also working on BS-VI compliant engines for the model, which could be launched before the new emission norms come into effect from April 2020.
