Honda Brio hatchback has ranked top across segments in the JD Power 2014 India Initial Quality Study. The study included a total of 8,429 vehicle owners, who purchased a new vehicle between November 2013 and July 2014. The JD Power Initial Quality Study included 73 cars in 30 cities across India from 17 different car manufacturers. The study conducted between May 2014 and September 2014. With 18 years and counting, the study includes issues faced by owners with their new vehicle in the first two to six months of ownership.
The Initial Quality Study examines more than 200 problems such as engine & transmission, vehicle exterior, HVAC, driving experience, controls and displays, features, seats, entertainment, vehicle interior and navigation. The Quality study is calculated by summarizing the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). Lower the PP100 score, higher the initial quality study and a lower rate of problem incidence.
Talking about scores, the Honda Brio managed to score the lowest i.e 40 followed by the Skoda Rapid at 51. Maruti Swift Dzire scored88, where as the Celerio owners found lesser problems. Honda City managed to score 74 points, which is now positioned at number 5, if we look at the top 10 cars.
