      The Japanese carmaker, Honda has confirmed that its upcoming BR-V compact SUV will be unveiled in India at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The company also revealed the technical specifications and other details of the vehicle.  Designed on an ‘Active Solid Motion’ philosophy, the Honda BR-V looks very robust and premium. The vehicle measures 4,455mm in length, 1,735mm in width and 1,650mm in height that makes it bigger than its closest rivals – Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. It has a wheelbase of 2,660mm, and a ground clearance of 201mm.       The India-bound BR-V could be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that are claimed to return high fuel efficiency. The petrol engine gets Zig-zag piston coating pattern and CCS (cooling control spacer) along with a new six-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmissions. What further aid to its efficiency are extended gear ratio range, and reduced frame weight and friction. The gasoline unit churns out 118bhp of power with 145Nm of torque, while the diesel unit is good for 98.6bhp and 200Nm. 

      On the outside, the vehicle gets plastic body cladding, black projector headlamps, roof rails, skid plates, LED taillights etc. Inside the cabin, the car gets a multi-information display, center console with piano black finish, a touchscreen audio system, automatic climate control, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, etc. It has seven-seat (2+3+2) configuration, and offers the segment-leading cabin space.
