We are already in Tokyo to cover the 44th Tokyo Motor Show, one of the most anticipated automobile events and it seems the excitement levels among car makers too is at an all time high. Katsuhi Inoue stated that the company had made a commitment of scaling up operations and raising the brand’s presence in the Indian market by launching new products at regular intervals. This was proved true as models like the Honda Amaze, new generation Honda City, Honda Jazz and Honda Mobilio did great for the brand in terms of numbers in business. This holds true especially with the Honda City doing strong in sales amongst premium sedans.

The brand is also happy with the success of these models. In the past 2 years, Honda has already invested Rs 3000 Cr to increase production capacity sighting a strong demand for its future products which will be mainly in the volumes segment. Also, importantly, he announced that Honda BR-V will be launched in the next fiscal year which is 2016 and will be powered by both petrol and diesel engines.

Also, as earlier rumored, the Honda BR-V will not be offered with a 1.6-litre but instead will come with the popular 1.5-litre earth dreams diesel technology. It makes complete sense for the brand to choose this motor as it has been powering all most of the portfolio models and also delivers higher efficiency compared to similar displacement motors.
