Honda Siel Cars India and Hyundai Motors India Limited ended the year with positive sales growth figures in December 2008. Both the companies were benefitted by new launches, price cuts and discounts offered on their various models.
Hyundai Motor India Limited registered an overall 55.7 percent growth in December 2008. Domestic sales grew by 19.3 percent and export figures marked whopping 97 percent growth over the same period in 2007. Hyundai sold 38,402 units in December 2008 where 15,602 units were sold in the domestic market as compared to 13,078 units sold in December 2007. Hyundai i10, i20 marked the highest sales in the domestic market along with Getz and Hyundai flagship model, Hyundai Santro.
Honda Siel Cars India clocked 9 percent growth as its sales figures basked in the glory of launch of the new City. It sold 3667 units in December 2008 as compared to 3363 units sold in December 2007. t sold 2,972 units of the new City, 386 Civics, 171 Accords and 132 CRVs.
