Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor chipped demand of 78,975 units and 30,580 units, respectively. Here, Honda Amaze has made the difference for Honda Motors Company in the Indian automobile market. Apparently, Honda seems to enjoy this edge over Tata Motors and hopes to propel ahead in the market by establishing itself among the country's top auto makers.

It must be noted that Honda Amaze has done really well in the Indian automobile market since its launch on the back of high affordability, pepped-up looks and improved performance. Incidentally, this vehicle was launched in April 2013. Hironori Kanayama, President and CEO, who was present at the time of launch, had hinted at the huge growth potential of India in the automobile sector and Honda's aim. He said, “Honda aims to tap the huge customer base that India has. After launching the sedan in the bigger cities, Honda will focus upon venturing into the tier-II cities.” Now, here we are, after 6 months of the launch it can be seen that Honda's aim is closing on fruition and Amaze has and will play a role in giving the required momentum to cruise along swiftly in the Indian market. The ever rising popularity of this sedan is evident from the fact that there is a long waiting list of over 15,000 units that are yet to be delivered.

Interestingly, Honda Motors Company is all geared up for the future too. Quite notably, the auto company is planning to make use of this robust platform in the form of some new launches. As per the available information, Honda is planning to launch City diesel and Jazz diesel in the Indian automobile market in 2014. Incidentally, the company's second manufacturing facility is also expected to get operational around the same time. This new plant will help Honda to take its total output to 20,000 units per month from the current 10,000 units per month. Furthermore, there is news that Honda also has a plan to set up its third manufacturing facility in the country that will be used to manufacture an entry level hatchback in lieu of further expansion of its offered product range.
