The Japanese automotive giant Yamaha has announced that Hiroaki Fujita will be appointed as the new Chairman of Yamaha Motor group Companies in India. This group consists of the Yamaha Motor India Sales Private Limited, Yamaha Motor Research and Development India Private Limited and India Yamaha Motor Private Limited.
Fujita will take over from the 1st of January, 2015 and will replace the current chairman, Hiroyuki Suzuki. Apart from being the Chairman, he will also be the President and CEO of the Yamaha Moto India Private Limited.
Hiroaki Fujita has a total experience of 32 years with the Japanese manufacturer. He has been associated with the company since 1982, when he joined the Intelligent Machinery Operations of the company. With time, he rose to the position of General Manager – Engineering Division at IM Operations in 2007. Later on, he took over the role of Executive Officer at Yamaha Motor Corporation (Japan) in 2011.
According to Fujita, India has immense potential and is the fastest growing two-wheeler market in the world. Yamaha has been right on the track with posting double digit sales growth in the country. Yamaha Motor Corporation Japan recently created the Yamaha Motors India Private limited to head the Indian business operations. The new company will be responsible for the regional control of Yamaha India’s business, quality control and compliance assurance, business planning and business expansion as well as corporate strategies.
