      At the ongoing 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, prominent car makers from different parts of the world showcased their products. The world's largest automobile event has been an amazing affair up to now with some exquisite models on display, which includes cars from the likes of Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus and Toyota among others. Some of these models have already attracted a lot of attention from experts and enthusiasts across the world, who are eagerly awaited their respective launches.

      Among those cars that grabbed the headlines was Porsche's 918 Spyder model, which almost resembled to the concept that the company showcased two years back. The production ready car that was showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show was a plug-in hybrid version of the sports car. The company told the 4.6-litre V8 engine giving away 608 bhp works in tandem with a 154 bhp electric motor fitted at the rear alongside the 127 bhp one fitted at the front to give a cumulative of 887 bhp and 1274 Nm of torque. It has a potential to clock 100 kmph from 0 kmph in just 2.8 seconds while in case of electric motors, the car can reach the same speed in seven seconds. 918 Spyder also holds the lap record at Nurburgring track with timing of 6.57 minutes, the fastest by any production car.

      For BMW fans, the biggest announcement made by the company was introduction of i8 model. Till the time the car made its debut, the specifications were already known to a vast majority of people. BMW gave away a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine in this car that is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox besides the electric motor having a power output of 320 bhp in its hybrid model i8. As told by the company, the car can reach 100 kmph from scratch in just 4.4 seconds. In terms of fuel efficiency, the i8 is assumed to give 94 mpg with the electric motor having a capability power the car till 36 km on a single charge.

      German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz took the curtains of its 2015 GLA compact crossover vehicle at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. What is exciting to see in GLA is its its architecture and powertrain that is based on the platform of A-Class and CLA models. The car drew of buzz owing to its stylish design and it would certainly give BMW a run for its money.

      In case of the raging bull alas Lamborghini, the company showcased a new model of Gallardo named as LP 570-4 Squadra Corse. The latest offering of Lamborghini might well be the last special edition of the famous Gallardo model as its successor is currently in the development phase. LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine that generates maximum power of 570 bhp. The e-gear six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters furthers transfers the power to the rear wheels of the vehicle. In order to reduce the weight of the car, Lamborghini has used carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-fiber seats and Alcantara trims in the interiors. As far as performance figures of the car are concerned, the Squadra Corse is reaches 100 kmph from 0 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and has an ability to clock a top speed of 320 kmph.
