Hero MotoCorp has been strong brand in the Indian two wheeler segment. A while ago, Hero MotoCorp had launched the Splendor iSmart at an attractive price tag Rs. 47,250 (Ex-showroom Delhi). With the launch of the new iSmart Splendor the bike maker intends on promoting the new i3s technology in the Indian continent. The demand for the iSmart motorbike shall lead to the technology being featured in other range of motorcycles from the Indian bike maker.

The Splendor iSmart that was launched earlier this year draws it energy from the 100cc air-cooled single cylinder four-stroke engine that generates a peak power of about 7.8PS at 7,500rpm with a maximum torque output of 8.04 Nm at 4,500rpm. Technologically the bike is blessed with stop-and-start i3S technology that holds unique ability to shut down the engine when idling to prevent wastage of fuel. The engine springs back to life when the clutch is pressed. The technology is one of a kind and the Indian bike-maker intends on getting a patent right for the same. The new technology is expected to deliver impressive mileage and attain efficiency figures that have never been seen before.

During the launch of Splendor iSmart in the country, Anil Dua, Hero MotoCorp, Senior vice president for marketing and sales, said, “We have applied for a patent for this technology which may be later extended to several other models. We have been receiving encouraging customer queries on launch schedules of the various models. We plan to roll out four other models - the newer versions of Pleasure, Xtreme, Karizma and ZMR - later this month.” The new technology is aimed at delivering better efficiency figures especially in metropolitan cities where navigating in stop and go traffic can be a daunting task that is complimented with bad fuel efficiency figures.

The new Splendor iSmart from Hero Motocorp has received good cosmetic upgrades like – bigger panels, colourful paint schemes, attractive graphics, and a refreshed instrumentation cluster to make it look a cut above the rest. The bike is expected to compete against the likes of Honda Dream Yuga and Bajaj Discover 100M that have been performing well in the Indian market. The bike is available in interesting shades of Sports Red, , Excellent Blue, Leaf Green and Heavy Grey. New technology, attractive design and unmatched fuel efficiency from the Hero MotoCorp Splendor iSmart is surely taking it a long way up in the Indian market.
