India’s number one two wheeler company, Hero MotoCorp, revealed the HX 250R model, which expected to the firm’s second most powerful bike after the Hastur, considering their project launching road map in coming months. Unlike most cases, no one has yet been able to capture any snapshots and put it on the Internet, meaning no one has got a glimpse at what the production model of Hero HX 250R will look like. Now, according to a report by Zigwheels, the Hero HX 250R could be on its way to the Indian market in the month of November this year, which could be big news for bike lovers in the country and mark the firm’s entry into the segment. Sources claim that this bike has been jointly developed by three firms, namely AVL, known for producing Royal Enfield powertrains earlier), Eric Buell Racing (EBR) and Hero MotoCorp. Albeit the bike was unveiled in the month of January this year, the firm has been quite secretive about their intentions of launching this product, not making a single comment on the same.

Not only has the firm been coy on telling or giving any hint about when this car will be launched, it is reportedly adopted a rather cautious approach to things, in order to avoid any marketing catastrophe and give a bad name to the brand. However, industry experts feel that Hero MotoCorp’s cynicism, though real, is not that big a problem given how huge the brand is in the country. Hero HX250R is going to be fitted with a single cylinder engine that has a displacement of around 250 cc. This bike, according to sources, is going to deliver a maximum power level of up to 30 BHP along with peak torque of 26 Nm. Featuring a halogen headlamp with LED guide lights, Hero HX250R will be equipped with an all LED unit at the rear. The rear will feature a monoshock with 5 step adjustable Pre Load and Shim Valve Damping function and Telescopic Hydraulic Shock Absorbers at the front. The braking system will feature a 300 mm disc with a 3 piston calliper up front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. Hero HX250R is going to come with an added option of C-Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Weighing around 139 kgs and having a ground clearance of 145 mm, this bike will feature 17-inch alloy wheels.

Though nothing has been decided at present, this bike could be launched at a price of around INR 1.65 lakh and will compete with the likes of KTM Duke/RC series, Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS, Hyosung GT250R and GD 250N, Yamaha R25, Mahindra Mojo, Kawasaki Z250 and TVS Draken. While not all of these bikes have entered the market yet but they will surely compete with Hero HX250R in the Indian market. Industry experts believe that the next two years are going to be excellent for the Indian bike market, especially this particular segment, given the number of launches that are going to take place. With international players like Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Hyosung and KTM already in the fray, adding Hero MotoCorp to it will make the entire game much more interesting. Also, experts believe that Hero MotoCorp has a chance of performing exceptionally well despite having no experience in this segment whatsoever, primarily due to its image and brand value in the market.
