      HCIL announces recall of 1075 units of Accord and 253 units of CR-V

      Honda Cars India Ltd. has announced a recall for its premium saloon Accord and SUV, CR-V over an issue of passenger side air bag inflator. Around 1,075 units of Accord and 252 units of CR-V manufactured in year 2003 and 1 unit of CR-V produced in 2002 will be verified for the potential defect related to passenger air bag.

      So far no incident has been reported in India related to defective passenger air bag inflator, yet the company is proactively conducting this recall to make sure that owners of their vehicles do no encounter any problem related to this in future. Hence, this recall is being conducted in India in tandem with Honda’s global recall proclaimed in June 2014.

      The replacement of this part will be done free of cost at Honda’s authorized dealerships scattered across the country in a scheduled manner. Owners of Honda Accord and Honda CR-V will be notified directly by the company, while customers can also check if their car needs replacement of the above mentioned part on Honda’s official website by punching in the 17 digit chassis number that starts with “MAKCM”.
