      Harley-Davidson 'Fat Boy Special' model launched in India

      Amidst the rising demand for the premium segment bikes in the Indian market, the US based cult bike maker Harley-Davidson on Thursday announced to launch the 'Fat Boy Special' model in the Indian market. The bike has been priced at Rs 19.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

      The all new 'Fat Boy Special' model will be brought to the Indian market through CBU (completely built unit) route. The new model will be available across all Harley-Davidson dealerships in the country. The current portfolio of the company in India includes 14 models.

      While speaking to the reporters on the launch of new 'Fat Boy Special' model, Harley-Davidson India Managing Director Anoop Prakash said, "We are now launching the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Special, offering a special take on the motorcycle that embodies Harley-Davidson's rich heritage."

      In order to provide a broad spectrum of services to its customers including consumer financing, banking services and dealer financing, the company has joined hands with leading private sector banks including ICICI and HDFC. According to Mr. Prakash, the partnership with these banks will help more motorcycle enthusiasts realize their dream of joining the Harley-Davidson community.

      The company has completed two years of its operations in the Indian market in August 2011, as it had launched its Indian operations two years back in August 2009. So far, the company is receiving an overwhelming response in the country from bike enthusiasts and buyers of this segment
