With the country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is all set to establish their new manufacturing plant there, the Hansalpur area of Gujarat is all set to become the next auto hub in the Indian market. Hansalpur is a part of Gujarat’s plan of 500-square-km special investment region (SIR) which includes as many as 44 villages.
As per a recent statement given by a senior state official, while the preliminary master plan is ready for the project, a detailed report on the SIR would be ready by the end of this year.
While further elaborating the government’s plans to Business standard, he said that the government is planning to develop the region as a manufacturing investment zone and, therefore, develop road, rail, and power and gas infrastructure accordingly. Maruti has made a detailed presentation to the state and has indicated the infrastructure requirement. The government is planning to develop the final project report keeping their requirements in mind, he added.
After meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, the MSIL Chairman R C Bhargava had stated that “The location is very good, we are happy. However, the road will require widening. It is there in the government’s agenda."
