Patel's first challenge was to purchase a Nano model with an open-top design, for which he made rounds of many Tata Motors' retail outlets in his neighbourhood and even approached a Pune-based company outlet. However, every time he asked for his unusual demand, the dealership owners turned him down saying it was impossible to provide that. Later, Patel started hunted for a used Nano and luckily found a relative interested in selling a second hand model of the Tata entry level small car. Accordingly, Patel bought the used Nano and got its roof cut out by a mechanic.

Considering it has been transformed into a beach vehicle, Patel's open-top Nano model comes fitted with a number of interesting modifications and options, such as absent windows, plastic covered seats, protective cover on the under body and special mat. Most important of all, the roof of car has been removed permanently. At present, Patel's special Nano offers a great deal of competition to other adventure motor sport businesses.
