Sales of SsangYong cars in November crossed 14000 for second month running. Facts depict a year-on-year growth of 17.9 per cent and if figures are accumulated then the statistic turns out to be 21.6 per cent. Reports suggest that growth in sales of the firm has been facilitated by the excellent show put up by Korando family brand. One model that has done well in particular is the new Korando C, earning great acclaim for car experts and customers. In fact, analysts have predicted that given the success and potential of this new model, SsangYong might launch it in India soon.

Officials at SsangYong are really happy about the progress it has made in the domestic market, posting record sales in second consecutive month with 6540 units sold in November. The growth in comparison to the corresponding period in 2012 was 48.5 per cent and the same figure for year-to-date was 35.6 per cent. Reportedly, during October 2013, SsangYong sold 6202 units and the statistics of November 2013 have bettered the one company achieved in December 2006, when it recorded sales of 6534 units. Sales of Korando C and Korando Sports models have grown by 7.9 per cent and 101.7 per cent, respectively, as compared to the same period in 2012.

SsangYong has been gaining prominence in a few international markets, which includes the likes of Russia and Chile. Total exports from January to November, in comparison with the same period in 2012, grew by 12.8 per cent. The firm was able to achieve this despite the pressure of catering to the rising domestic demand. Since the launch of new Korando C in September, sales in European and Chinese markets have risen. Industry experts have appreciated the strategies adopted by SsangYong along with its new models.

Lee Yoo-il, Chief Executive Officer at SsangYong Motor, spoke about this performance and praised the work done by his team. “SsangYong’s monthly domestic sales set a record for two month in a row since 2006 led by robust sales of refreshed models, and its global sales exceeded 14,000 units for the second straight month. We will make our best efforts to expand production volume to supply vehicles to customers in a timely manner,” he was quoted as saying.
