      Geneva 2017: Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo revealed

      Porsche has revealed the newest addition to Panamera family with the Panamera Sport Turismo. The estate body style of the Panamera will make its public debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

      The Panamera station wagon was hinted back in 2012 with a design study. The car was spotted undergoing testing last month. Now based on the second-generation Panamera, the Sport Turismo retains the front fascia but is all new beyond the C-Pillar. The dimensions of the Sport Turismo is identical to the standard car. The new addition is the ‘4+1’ seating as the rear bucket seats gets an addition middle seat. The Panamera Sport Turismo offers 520litres of storage capacity, 25litres more than standard Panamera. A wider rear doors provide for easy ingress and an increased headroom. The car rides on 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear windscreen is raked still and gets a special adaptive spoiler, which extends at around 90kmph and generate up to 50kg of downforce. A luggage compartment management system is available as an option with the Sport Turismo which includes two rails integrated in the loading floor, four tie-down points, and a luggage compartment partition net.

      Porsche will introduce the Sport Turismo in four versions. The Panamera 4 Sport Turismo is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 generating 330bhp. The Panamera 4S Sport Turismo will have a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine belting out 440bhp. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is powered by the same engine as in the 4S, and it has an additional 136bhp electric motor with a combined output of 456bhp. The top-of-the-line Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 generating 550bhp. The Sport Turismo will be available with all the hardware from standard Panamera.

      Prices starts at $96,200 (Rs 64 lakh) for the Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, $104,000 (Rs 69 lakh) for the 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, $109,200 (Rs 72 lakh) for the Panamera 4S Sport Turismo, and $154,000 (Rs 1.02 Crore) for the Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo. The Panamera estate is expected to arrive in showrooms in the last quarter of 2017.
