General Motors announced on Wednesday that it will cut the prices on all its models by up to Rs. 30,500 after the reduction in excise duty announced by the government. According to the company Vice President, P Balendran, Chevrolet Spark is cheaper by Rs. 8.000 – Rs. 10,500. Aveo U-VA is cheaper by Rs. 12000 to Rs. 16000 depending upon the model. Prices of entry level sedan, Aveo have been reduced by Rs. 16700 to Rs 21000 while Tavera is cheaper by Rs. 16500.
General Motors is already offering discounts of nearly Rs. 20000 to Rs. 58000 on its various models. However, the company had announced a few days back that these offers will last only till December. It plans to call of all discount offers from its models.
The US based auto giant, General Motors, has been facing tough times back home. According to GM India, Vice President, the Indian subsidiary is capable of sailing through the tough times. He said that the company further plans to source auto components from India.
